Movie Room 2.0

“Pivot! Pivoooot!”

I ran out of my home office to see what was going on as I heard laughter and chatter in the hallway. To my surprise -- I see Helen hauling a gigantic couch down our narrow stairway by herself, one step at a time. Our other housemate Katherine cheered for her while offering her support.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Erica, a.k.a the face behind the Lisieux House social media accounts.

So naturally, I whipped out my phone and captured this moment of Helen’s strength and finesse!

Throughout this month, Helen and the women of the Lisieux House have been working hard on making small improvements to different rooms in the house. Namely, by removing old furniture and replacing it with something more fitting for the space.

As all three of us pushed the heavy couch that Helen had so skillfully found for us via an online platform for everyone’s favorite four letter word (FREE), the next task was large at hand.

Our plan was to move some of the old furniture out of our movie room to give away while moving in the new couch. But it was not going to be easy. For those of you who have been to our house, you know that we have VERY narrow doors, and moving anything bigger than a human being through them is a challenge. Needless to say, it took the better part of a few hours to push and turn the couch in every direction to get it through the door.

Once we finally got it through, with the help of Kelci, we were able to rearrange the room completely by moving everything 90 degrees to face the direction of our newly cleaned storage room.

Add in a new bookshelf and a mini Christmas tree and the movie room now looks like a cozy brand new space! We are so blessed to have such hard working women in this house going above and beyond to make it a home for those who will live here in the future.

While we work so heartily on our space, we remember that all this work is done in glory to God. Without Him, none of it would be possible.

“Entrust your works to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” -Proverbs 16:3
