Fr. Jacques Philippe Visits Lisieux House!

On February 14, 2016, the Feast of St. Valentine, Lisieux House had the great privilege of hosting Fr. Jacques Philippe. Fr. Philippe is a member of the Community of the Beatitudes in France and the well known author of a number of spiritual works, including Searching for and Maintaining Peace.

Welcomed to the house by the invitation of Fr. Cal Christensen, Fr. Philippe celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at the house, dinner, and compline. He spoke of confidence in God's love, the simplicity of prayer, and for most of the evening was a silent, peaceful presence among us. A reminder that really, in God's hands there is no striving, no stress, but rather, the gentle embrace of a Father. The Lisieux House community was so blessed to have this spiritual giant among us for the evening. We don't always understand the ways God works among us but we are grateful to receive the secret gifts of formation that God sends us. We highly recommend his work if anyone has not yet discovered it.
